(* 1943 in Kladno, life lived in Teplice) Mrs. Tvrdíková is a lady with varied interests who always manages to surprise. She contacted us after seeing our ad in the Teplice newspaper and then started working with us. This lady walked into our first meeting full of energy and smiling form ear to ear and we just hit it off instantly.  Zdeňka Tvrdíková wanted to go to art school from an early age but her parent’s plans were different, so instead she studied Engineering. She then worked in electrical plants for most of her life and actually met her husband on the job. They had a son and now also have grandchildren.

A few years ago she became a widow, and that led her back to painting. She likes to say that she started playing again. She paints on silk, scarves and ties and loves to use acrylic paints and dry pastel. She studied painting at the University of the 3rd Age in Ústí nad Labem, in the Department of Art Education. She has also participated in several alumni exhibitions. Those led her to discovered a new hobby, sculpting, which she has been doing since 2009 with a group called SPOLU ("Together”).

At the moment she has a boyfriend who she has known since she was a child and reconnected with again five years ago. "It's a good relationship, because we have a lot of common; memories, parents and all," she says with a smile. Together they like to travel to Scotland to visit his son or she also likes vacationing at the beach.

She loves Mucha and Art Nouveau. And style wise? “My hair prickles when I see Mr. Moravec on TV, with his red tie and a blue mottled handkerchief in his pocket. He needs to have a stylist on hand who could point these things out to him, don’t you think so?”, she told us.
